California State PTA is supporting the Our Children, Our Future education initiative. This exciting initiative will help transform our schools.
When fully implemented, it will provide approximately $900 to $1,700 per student each year to be spent at Helmers and every other single local public school in the state.
Your help is essential to begin restoring the deep budget cuts to our schools. Help bring back the arts, P.E., science, technology, engineering and math, smaller class sizes, counselors, librarians, and more.

Dear Huskies,
We have all read the headlines from Sacramento -
"More than $20 billion has been cut from our schools."
School districts in the entire state of California are having crucial programs being severely cut or eliminated,
including arts education, summer school, school libraries and media centers, school bus transportation, physical
education and sports.
Saugus Unified School District faces increased class sizes, less intervention programs, decreased library hours,
and possibly a shorter school year. Decisions on which children have access to a complete education should not be
determined by a ZIP code or the depth of one's pocket or even a community's ability to raise money. It is the
right of every child to a complete education.
Right now, we must act and join together to do what we know must be done immediately. Helmers PTA urges you to
contact our state representatives and let them know that further cuts to education are UNACCEPTABLE.
